Becky Weichhand, Executive Director
Becky came to CCAI in 2009 from the beautiful Great Lakes State of Michigan to serve as CCAI's Director of Policy. For five years in that role, Becky worked to educate Members of Congress and their staff on domestic and international adoption and child welfare policy. As Director of Policy, Becky led CCAI's Congressional Resource Program to daily serve congressional offices with relevant information in the field. In her work with CCAI's 20/20 Vision Program she coordinated congressional delegations to Los Angeles, Columbus, the United Kingdom, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Cambodia, Vietnam, South Korea, and Haiti. Becky also managed The Way Forward Project, which focused policymakers and funders on the need for family care of children in six African nations. After serving as Interim Executive Director beginning in June 2014, Becky was named CCAI's Executive Director in December 2014. Becky has a J.D. from Regent Law, and is a licensed attorney in Virginia.
Martina J. Arnold, Director of Development
Martina facilitates and advances CCAI’s support among corporate, foundation and individual donors as Director of Development. She also provides expertise in event management and mass communications. Prior to joining CCAI, Martina executed fundraising plans and cultivated relationships in support of the College of Southern Maryland, CSM Foundation and the Center for Children, Inc. Martina is a graduate of Bowie State University, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Journalism. A community advocate, she is a member of Leadership Southern Maryland. Martina joined CCAI in June of 2015 with more than 15 years of experience fundraising and building business development programs for nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.
Kate McLean, Policy and Programs Associate
Kate came to CCAI as a programs intern during her senior year in college and developed a strong passion for children in need of families and improving the child welfare system through advocacy programming during her internship experience. After graduating, Kate attained a spot on the CCAI team in 2018 as the Policy & Programs Associate and now works closely with the Executive Director, Director of Policy and Director of Programs in outreach, policy and programming. She supports the implementation of CCAI's core programs and annual projects, including Foster Youth Internship Program®, Angels in Adoption®, and National Adoption Day. Kate received a B.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict Resolution from The George Washington University.
